Realm of Availability

There is one more thing I would like you to know before we move on to the actual "work" of Witchcraft.  I want you to thoroughly understand this point, since it will factor in to all of your "work."

When you cast a spell or do a ritual, be ever mindful to work within your realm of availability.  This realm can be visualized as a sphere that encompasses your life.  Basically, it's your one little world.  Your "availability" is what you are capable of manifesting, within reason, in your world.  I'm gonna go out on a limb and say most of you probably don't have the resources available for a second house in the Bahamas.  If you do, I'm jealous!  But I'm sure most of you do have the resources for a better home or apartment.  So, you cast the spell for a better home, you get it and your "little world" sphere just expanded.  Are you with me?
As you work magick to transform your life in these little ways, your realm of availability grows.  Your confidence in your power to change your life will also grow along with it.  As an added benefit of working with this concept, you won't get discouraged when your "Sail Into the Sunset Yacht Spell" just didn't seem to work.

The Six-Petaled Lotus...a prayer to Lakshmi

Lakshmi is the Hindu goddess of wealth, prosperity (both material and spiritual), light, wisdom, fortune, fertility, generosity and courage; and the embodiment of beauty, grace and charm. No goddess can teach you more about the nature of prosperity, wealth and the negative concept of poverty consciousness.
I worked with Lakshmi for 3 months and was amazed at the revelations she offers. The most important message she had to share with me is that there is no such thing as lack. Our environment, surroundings and even ourselves are only limited by our perceptions. Focus on the infinite abundance available to you, and it must manifest.
So...in honor of the gifts that Lakshmi has shared, I wrote this devotional ritual for her. I hope that you enjoy it and have the privilege of learning from this amazing goddess.

Goddess Posture

Lift your gaze to the heavens and standing in the moon goddess posture, recite:
I invoke Maha Lakshmi, who is without beginning and without end. The Eternal Goddess.
Lowering your arms to the benediction posture, recite these words as you face east bowing your head:
Benediction Posture
I bow to the Divine Goddess, who is the provider of success, intelligence and freedom and the benefactor of both worldly wealth and spiritual wealth. Her wisdom is infinite.
Facing south and again in the benediction posture with head bowed, recite:
I bow to the Ultimate Mother, who grants favors to all, who terrorizes the evil and removes all misery. Her power is limitless.
Turn to face west, still in the benediction posture with head bowed and recite:
I bow to the Great Mother, who can remove even the greatest of sins. Her mercy is unconditional.
Facing north, hands still outstretched in benediction and head bowed, recite:
I bow to the auspicious goddess of wealth, luxury, beauty, generosity and all worldly pleasures. Her abundance is boundless.
Finally, lower your hands and kneel with your head still bowed and recite:
I surrender to the Great Lakshmi, who resides in the hearts of Her devotees. Her Spirit is ever present.
Om Lakshmi. Blessed Be.

Note:  Always remember that no Hindu deity is ever called upon without first calling upon Ganesh, the elephant-headed god who is the remover of obstacles.  A simple chant can be:  Om, Ganesh.

Responsible Guilt

Guilt is a sort of bond which holds us back from moving on with our lives.  This is not a life-affirming feeling.  Not only can guilt play upon the mind, but it can also manifest itself physically.  All ancient healing techniques teach the correlation of spirit, mind and body.  When left unnoticed, spiritual and emotional hurts may surface as a sickness or even disease.  Much has been written regarding these manifestations.  Google "spiritual meaning of illness", and you'll see what I'm talking about.  The whole subject is very fascinating.  Modern medicine teaches us to ascertain the source of our illness, so that proper treatment can be applied.  Here, we are approaching it from a metaphysical standpoint.  For example, feeling unloved can often lead to heart problems.  Feeling as though your life is going nowhere can lead to leg or feet related issues.  There's so much more, but let's move on to what you can do now about any guilt that may have been dealt to you or even self-inflicted.
Light a white candle to signify the presence of Spirit and place it on a table in a dimly lit room.  In front of the candle, place a mirror.  Make sure the mirror is big enough that you see your whole face reflected.  As you read the incantation below, pause and think about what the words are saying. Look at your reflection.  Can you see the pain, the hurt, the isolation that this silly emotional response has created?  Now feel a total release from this bond of guilt, experience the relief, let out a big sigh and smile.
When you have finished with your cleansing, extinguish the candle and return to your normal tasks.  Don't entertain any thought of it from this moment on.

Filled with guilt but serves me nought
The heart aches what hands have wrought
The deed is done with great remorse
But hearts erred not from the original source
So with love and joy now be replaced
And let old patterns be erased
From soul and mind, from heart and spleen
Be washed.  Be Free.  Be clean.  Be clean.
Purified of all my past, only love within me last.

Note:  The last line, "Purified of all..." can be used whenever you feel a need to clear any emotional baggage.  Simply chant the whole last line over and over, until you feel released.

Reclaiming the Power

So, Monday night was the full moon. OMG! It was so beautiful! May's Full Moon is called the Flower Moon & sometimes, the Milk Moon.

I wanted to share with you my personal ritual for "Drawing Down the Moon."

Stand, facing her, & simply gaze for a few moments. Empty your mind & just enjoy her natural beauty. When you feel that peaceful, comfortable feeling...when your mind & body are at rest & relaxed...lift your hands in the crescent shape & begin to chant this rune:

Here in this Circle of the Moon

I call the Maiden, Mother, Crone

Rounded and complete of purpose

In the fullness of your presence

Yours is Magick! Yours is Power!

Make me One with your Essence!

Keep chanting this at least 3X or until you feel the energy within you peak. Once you feel you have drawn the power of the moon within you, seal it with a final "So Mote It Be." Then touch your hands to the earth or floor, depending on where you are performing the ritual. This will serve to ground the energy & make it useful to you.

She Who Hears The Cries Of The World

Quan Yin is the pre-eminent goddess in all of Asia. You find her in China, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Burma, Thailand and other countries.

In the Buddhist tradition, she is the Celestial Bodhisattva of Compassion. A bodhisattva is someone who does spiritual practice with the goal of achieving full enlightenment, but just before she arrives at that point, she makes the decision not to receive full enlightenment until the rest of the world has as well. Then she steps into the world and works to alleviate suffering and to awaken beings to their true nature.

According to legend, Quan Yin was about to enter heaven but paused on the threshold as the cries of the world reached her ears.
Quan Yin is known to be a protector of children. She is often portrayed with a child in her arms, near her feet, or on her knees, or with several children around her. For this reason, and for her compassionate, nurturing nature, I consider her as the Mother aspect of the Goddess...as well as a Saviour archetype.
Invoking Kuan Yin
As I look upon you
O Blessed Kuan Yin
I am renewed with your light
On the Wind I feel your strength
With the falling of the rain I am cleansed
By the Sun I bathe in your Spirit
With the Moon I feel your Wisdom and Power
Mother of Compassion
Who hears the cries of all hearts
In reverence I call upon you
To be with me this day...as always.
