The Witch's Pyramid

Yet another excerpt from my soon-to-be-released book...

"As I was perusing the library shelves one day, I came across numerous books on creating your life through visualization and positive thinking.  Reading through all those books, I started to realize, “O my goddess!  This is the Witch’s Pyramid!”  Here were all these new releases teaching a concept that has been passed down through generations of Witches.  My first thought was, “Foolish mortals…it’s about time.”  So, if you’ve been reading a lot of self-help and positive thinking books, you may recognize the similarity to the Witch’s Pyramid.
    I wrote it in rhyming fashion to make it easier to remember, as well as an attempt to make it fun.  Included is a more detailed description, in case the poem doesn't cut it.

The Witch’s Pyramid begins at the base.
Remember these corners, if its peak you would trace:
First, Imagination is fueled by desire,
Then ritual raises the energy higher.
Next, energy is molded and shaped by Will,
Then focused by the spell designed to fulfill.
Faith feeds desires with enthusiasm and love,
So relax, let go and be confident it will come.
But, continue in Secrecy, protect with closed mouth;
Lest the energy be weakened or scatter about.
When balanced and functioning, the Pyramid is whole;
At the top is Accomplishment of your particular goal."

Hope this inspires you to start creating the wonderful life you deserve.

Today's Animal Spirit...

Phew!  Everyone knows Skunk's power...that's why people (and other animals) get out of his way! If you're lacking self-esteem, Skunk is there to help.  You are worthy of a happy life...and if someone is making you miserable, look to Skunk as a confidence builder.  Skunk medicine is about accepting who you are and learning to express your truths without regret or embarrassment.  Remember, though, Skunk doesn't have to spray to be powerful...his reputation precedes him!  And, like Skunk, you don't need to spray either...but you do need to stand your ground calmly, and with Skunk's confidence.  Skunk teaches us to defend ourselves effectively without causing further conflict.
Skunk is also very good at calming small children, so call him the next time you're dealing with fussy little ones.

2011...What Does It Hold?

The new year is coming up in a few days, so I thought I'd prognosticate on what's in store for all of us.
The year 2011 corresponds to the number 4 in numerology.  It represents a foundation of sorts, of building, a cornerstone.  But, on the flip side, it's also the number representing a stubborn, bossy type of character.  I found this quite remarkable, since the 4th card in the tarot deck is the Emperor.  This is the overall ambience for 2011.
As I meditated on this, I began to receive continuing messages.  The first that comes to mind is a definite leap in medical discoveries.  I see alot of progress happening on the experimental front.  What concerns me about these great findings is the further corruption of earth.  On this level, we need to be very aware of being too rigid or inflexible.
The Emperor very often is representative of the superego, which relates to Zeus from Greek mythology.  The positive aspect that we can glean from his mythos is that of a rebellious nature.  Not quite being able to wrap my head around the whole meaning of this revelation, I asked for clarification from the animal spirits.  The spirit that came to me was the Blue Jay.  You can always rely on the animal kingdom to simplify any misconceptions.  Blue Jay encourages us to be sassy.  If there's something you've been wanting, ask for it.  If there's an issue that needs confrontation, don't sweep it under the rug or Blue Jay will drag it back out into the open.  One word of caution, though—Blue Jays will eat the young of other birds—so be direct, but not destructive.
Clearly, the message here is to balance skill, leadership, humility and compassion.  I believe the word of caution is to be applied to the illusion of pride.  Our children, the youth of our world, will be teaching us alot of lessons this coming year.  Look to them as beacons of hope.

All Blessings Be and a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year.  )O(
